Dreamy Venues in Winnipeg

Being part of the wedding and events industry means tons of opportunities to collaborate with other local vendors. Whether it’s working on an event for a client, or a meticulously planned styled shoot to attract new ones, the backdrop plays a large part in the overall aesthetic you’re trying to achieve.

While Winnipeg is best-known for its frigid winters, this prairie city is rich with history, architecture, and culture. Within its city limits, Winnipeg has an array of dreamy and unique venues to act as the perfect backdrop for your styled shoot.

1) Fort Gibraltar
Fort Gibraltar is located on the banks of Winnipeg’s intersecting Assiniboine and Red rivers, and originally served as a meeting space for fur traders in the 1800s. While rebuilt in the 1970s, the space has preserved much of its unique heritage, and provides a historic yet timeless ambience that can be difficult to find.

2) Winnipeg Art Gallery
The Winnipeg Art Gallery is an iconic downtown space located near Manitoba’s Provincial Legislature. Its rooftop sculpture garden provides a hidden sanctuary in Winnipeg’s urban setting.

3) Inn at the Forks (SMITH)
Found at the Inn at the Forks, SMITH’s interior embraces Winnipeg’s unique cultural history with a modern touch. Filled with Hudson Bay heritage stripes and mid-century modern decor, this venue provides a cozy idyllic cabin feel without having to leave the city.

5) Fort Garry Hotel
Designed by the same architects of New York’s Grand Central Station, the Fort Garry Hotel is one of Winnipeg’s most recognizable structures and a national landmark. High-beam ceilings, stone walls, and glittering chandeliers make this space an impressive backdrop for a styled wedding tablescape.

6) Assiniboine Park (Qualico Family Centre)
Modern, high ceilings, wooden beams, and large windows make the Qualico Family Centre a bright choice. Located in Winnipeg’s Assiniboine Park, this building brings the outdoors in with fiddle leaf and snake plants placed throughout. The perfect Winnipeg venue for a plant lover.
